Guidelines to Serve in Luke fellowship

The followings are some quick guidelines:

Ushers:

1) Please arrive at the fellowship room on or before 7:45pm. 

2) The usher need to set up all the chairs (just like the usual setting: about 5-6 rows and 5-6 chairs on each side (please use the chairs with red padding instead of the foldable blue chairs) and set up an usher table at the back.

3) The Ushers need to get the attendance blinder (black color), the pen/pencil case, the offering box and 慰問箱 from the cabinet (located at the corner of the room and just next to the room entrance) and put them all on the usher table.

4) The ushers are responsible for taking attendance.  If there are any 1st time visitors, please greet them and ask them to fill out a "VIP form".  Remember to collect the form back and pass to Miranda for follow-up work. If Miranda is absent on that night, please pass to another committee member.

5) If the main program is a Sermon, please get a cup of water from the pantry downstairs and serve it to the speaker and please also set up the black music stand (講台/譜架) at the front. Please prepare a wireless mic in case the speaker needs it. Please check with Sherman (or Uncle Roman if Sherman is not in)

6) Clean up after the main program

Leading the Singspiration:

1) Please arrive at the fellowship room on or before 7:45pm. 

2) Please try your best to prepare your own slide or MV file and send it to Sherman ahead of time.  Or at least to let him know in advance that you will have the files for him and then bring them to Sherman.

3) If you need help to prepare the slides/MV or any equipment, please contact Sherman ahead of time.

4) If you need a pianist, I believe that Gillian and Sunny will love to help.  But please give 1-week advance notice to them as they need to practice. 

5) Please try to start sharp at 8pm (at least no later than 0803pm unless some unpredictable situations happen).  I know there's a tendency that people start it late as for waiting for more people, but I would prefer getting rid of this habit.

6) You can have more than 1 song to lead as long as the singspiration will be done by 0820pm.  This means you will have around 20 mins for singspiration including the Luke Fellowship Theme Song, theme scripture and opening prayer. Please rehearse at home on what songs you will lead and what you will say in order to make sure that you won’t overrun the singspiration session.

7) If there are any 1st time visitors, please welcome them and introduce them to everyone at the end of the singspiration session.  If you like, you can ask bros and sis to stand up and greet everyone.

8) Please ask all to rise when singing the theme song and reading the theme scripture.

9) At the end of the singspiration session, you can say something like: "領詩完畢，將以下時間交番俾 XX (當晚負責人)".

 Nursery (兒童天地)

1)      Please arrive at the fellowship room on or before 7:45pm and let the parents know that you have arrived.  Once the kids are ready, the helpers and kids can proceed to the nursery room.

2)      Please watch out for any potentially dangerous acts from the kids and stop them if necessary.

3)      Please feel free to call the parents for help if their kids have any accident or do not cooperate.

4)      Snack time will be at around 0900pm.  Please assist the kids (esp. the small one) to wash their hands before snack time.  Set up and clean the 2  red rounded tables for snack time.  Assist kids if needed.

5)      After the snack time, clean up the 2 tables and move them back to the original place (usually they are located at the corner of the room).

6)      Around 0920pm, please remind and assist kids to clean up all the toys.

7)      Get the kids ready to leave at around 0930pm.  Sometimes, the main program may be overrun and so please be patient.  J  If the parents still haven’t showed up by 0940pm, please take all the kids back to the fellowship room but enter from the back.  Remind kids to keep quiet.
